Meet Rimvydė Bagdanskienė, a Senior Associate at WIDEN with extensive legal and academic experience. She began her legal career in 2003. Her experience encompasses education law, construction law, contract law, negotiations, conflict resolution and dispute prevention.

Since 2020, Rimvydė has specialised in education law. She advises on the conclusion and performance of education agreements, the rights and obligations of schools, children and parents, the legality of decisions made by educational institutions, the protection of students’ rights and the provision of quality education. Rimvydė assesses individual situations, develops legal arguments and helps clients prepare for negotiations, engagement with schools and public authorities, and potential disputes.

Rimvydė has prepared submissions to public authorities concerning students’ right to rest, the organisation of examinations, the legal impact assessment of curriculum reform and the State’s obligations to ensure quality education. She is also invited to share her insights in the media on education law, students’ rights and the transparency of examination appeal procedures.

Earlier in her career, Rimvydė worked for approximately ten years in construction law and public procurement. She drafted and negotiated construction contracts and other commercial agreements, advised on contractual performance, liability and legal risk, and participated in negotiations.

For Rimvydė, it is important to consider not only what legislation or contracts provide, but also how those provisions operate in practice. Her strength lies in her ability to assess complex situations systemically, connect individual facts, legal rules and the interests of different parties, identify material inconsistencies and distil the essence of the issue.
